Happy Halloween! For all those lovers of ghouls, spirits and things that go bump in the night, happy holidays to you! The season when dressing up in costume is (almost) a necessity, black clothing reigns and I can laugh my head off while watching Ellen Degeneres scare people on her show (oh yes I’m a fan). Alas around here (on the blog) it has been a little deserted and cobwebs may be gathering, not only because of the calendar date. I have been in three countries this week so have been a little preoccupied with working out the time, trying out the food scene and walking the streets till my calf muscles can take no more. But where I walk, my camera comes with me! Next week I have lots of treats lined up so stop by for a dousing of sweet delights.

To get you in the mood for not only the spooky celebrations but for the impending weekend here is my guide to the best of the internet! This week features adorable animal costumes, the art of Japanese decluttering, what you didn’t learn in design school and the 80+ people that refuse to retire but instead are rocking the lives they lead! Have a good one – X

+ What they didn’t teach you in design school.

+ Learn the art of Japanese decluttering this weekend. I like the idea of throwing away anything that doesn’t “spark joy”!

+ If you are inspired by the Uten.Silo wall organiser, why not make your own inspired creation?

+ The alphabet never looked better.

+ Is it too early to be looking at 2015 planners?

+ Old masters. The New Yorker covers people over 80 who refuse retire, instead they are still loving life and creating stuff!

+ Amp up those skills with 10 Skillshare Classes for Bloggers.

+ What happens when you quit social media for a week?

+ In need of an adorable halloween costume? The House that Lars Built comes to the rescue with animal themed costumes all created simple with head wraps! Part 1 & part 2.

+ The ghost town that nobody wanted. Oh and it’s for sale!

+ The images artist, Steve Spazuk creates using fire are incredible.

+ Issue 2 of Driftless magazine has been released and is beautiful!
