Oh it is horrible out there (no excuse but I am British, it’s in my DNA to talk about the weather)! Not only does it start getting dark at 2.30pm in the winter months but today it feels like the sun has had a day off and hasn’t bothered getting up at all. To make up for it, however, I am sitting in my second café of the day listening to Christmas music. Puts a little more of the holiday joy back into my day, especially when my soy chai comes with so much foam and cinnamon (it is Christmas after all).

This mood board comes to you from a café as I had the pleasure (and stress, oh boy) to move last week. I am sans internet which is a little difficult when your job relies on it, but very glad to have a roof over my head for 2014. As you can see from the mood board I have been storing away some interior inspiration and soon will get to use it. In addition our new flat is painted a light grey which I think has reflected my mood when compiling this mood board.

Looking through my portfolio I find I am very attracted to these soft colours. Taupes, honey browns, pale pinks, mauve and cream. They come into my work without me even realising, but unconcensly I edit imagery till I am happy and these colours pop up. This frame of thought came to me when recently reading a Facebook post by photographer Lara Jade, stating the colours that show up in her own work. Once you are aware of them, you begin to see them wherever you go. It would be nice to consider what additional colours to add to my pallet. Find your own by uploading to Adobe Kuler on their website or their app.

Other inspiration comes this month from models with delicate and emotive hands, photographing people and models in home environments, nature, and amazing make up looks that I hope to bring to a shoot one day.
